KENNY CAMPANA
FOUNDER OF SHOT FORE SHOT
Kenneth "Kenny" Campana is the founder of Shot Fore Shot, a golf apparel brand that offers stylish and high performance pieces to complement anybody's game.
Kenny, first generation American child to Dominican parents, was born and raised in the inner city neighborhoods of Boston where he currently resides with his family. From a young age, and despite unfavorable distractions in his environment, Kenny possessed entrepreneurial aspirations which he has aimed to fulfill through endeavors in real estate and now with Shot Fore Shot. All while holding down his day job as a portfolio manager for a large financial institution.
Kenny attended Bentley University where he earned his undergraduate degree, and later went on to earn his MBA from Northeastern University. When he is not spending time with his family, he enjoys hitting the course with friends for a round of golf. His passion for the game, combined with his passion for self expression, resulted in the birth of an idea to create a brand of golf apparel that would provide a stylish alternative to the common and run of the mill options available today. Rather than deter him, acknowledging the unfortunate and ugly history of golf, its lack of diversity, inclusivity and culture, and it's reality of being a classist and racist sport, drove Kenny to want to pursue it and motivate others to give it a shot. Golf was never accesible to him growing up as a brown child in the inner city and his hope is that will change. Making his mark as owner of a golf apparel brand is just a small piece of the puzzle.

Shot Fore Shot began with the idea that everyone should be inspired to think outside the box when selecting what to wear on the golf course. It evolved into a greater passion to create a brand that represents the culture, embraces diversity, and celebrates individuality while providing high performance gear for all. SFS VISION
Peete was an American professional golfer. He was the most successful Black Man to have played on the PGA Tour, with 12 wins, prior to the emergence of Tiger Woods. He was ranked in the top 10 players on the McCormack’s World Golf Rankings in 1984. Growing up poor, Peete suffered a badly broken arm that was never properly set. Against these odds, he was the leader in driving accuracy on the PGA Tour for 10 straight years. Peete was inducted into the African American Ethnic Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.

In 1975 Elder became the first Black man to play in the Masters Tournament. Elder lead a professional career filled with hate mail, death threats, and changing in parking lots of tournaments after being refused entry into clubhouses. This never stopped Elder and he went on to break barriers, achieve multiple wins, and go down in history.

From not being allowed on the golf course, or able to change his clothes for tournaments, (due to the ban of all Black men in the clubhouse), to now being one of the world’s greatest golfers of all time, + one of the most famous athletes in modern history.
CHARLIE SIFFORD
Sifford was an American professional golfer who was the first Black man to play on the PGA Tour. He won the Greater Hartford Open in 1967 and the Los Angeles Open in 1969. He also won the United Golf Association’s National Negro Open six times, and the PGA Seniors’ Championship in 1975. Sifford was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2004.
Tiger Woods will claim, “Sifford paved the way for my career.”

ALTHEA GIBSON
FIRST black
FEMALE GOLFER
Gibson was an American tennis player and professional golfer. She was one of the first Black athletes to cross the color line of international tennis and in the early 1960’s she became the first Black player to compete on the Women’s Professional Golf Tour.
Gibson was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame and the International Women’s Sports Hall of Fame.

TED RHODES
Rhodes was an American professional golfer who helped break the color barrier in the sport. In 1948, he played in the U.S. Open at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, California and became recognized as the first Black professional golfer. He worked tirelessly initiating litigation against the Professional Golfers’ Association of America seeking removal of the association’s, “Caucasian only clause.”
Rhodes mentored several black PGA players including Lee Elder and Charlie Sifford.
During Tiger Woods’ first Masters win speech, Woods mentioned Rhodes as, one of the pioneers that paved the way for him to play golf.
In 1998, Rhodes was inducted into the Tennessee Golf Hall of Fame.
